Condition Report
A large silver chalice by Alwyn Carr, the bowl with gilded interior and everted rim above a raised border set with three green cabochon chalcedony stones above laurel wreaths and pendants in relief, the stem surmounted with three straps and large knop decorated with Tudor style flowers, and tapering to a circular stepped foot set with three further green chalcedonies. Hallmarked Alwyn Carr, London 1927, alongside Swedish import marks. Height measuring 11 1/2 inches (29.2 cm), gross weight 23.7 ozt (737 grams).

Purchasing information-
The chalice appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Minor surface nicks and dints. Heavier scratches and contact marks to some areas. Repair to foot, which is clearly visible to the underside where a rectangular piece has been applied. Seam line visible to stem and the join between the top of the stem and the knop is very dark, possible repair? Gilding a little faded to the interior. All raised decoration appears in good condition. Slight rubbing to hallmarks but all still clearly legible.
