Condition Report

An early 20th century 9ct gold garnet and split-pearl pendant. Of openwork design, with circular-shape garnet and split-pearl foliate highlights, suspended from a later fancy-link chain. Chain with import marks for 9ct gold. Length of pendant 4.2cms. Length of chain 50cms. Total weight 6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Garnets slightly reddish-purple, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Split-pearls vary in appearance and condition, with various hues of body colour, some in good condition, others in poor condition with crack and nacre damage.

  • Garnets in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Stamped 9ct to the reverse.
