Condition Report

An early 20th century gold amethyst and split pearl necklace. The oval-shape amethyst collet, with split pearl openwork surround and surmount, suspended from a fancy-link chain with split pearl foliate accents. Length 42cms. Weight 9.1gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Chain not original to pendant. Split pearl sections to chain are of a similar period but later additions.
  • Replacement clasp.
  • Slight discolouration to the pendant and chain.
  • Amethyst is a medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical healed fracture inclusions.

  • Amethyst is in good condition with minor surface abrasions.

  • Pearls are a cream colour, with pink tints, in good condition, with minor surface scratches.
  • Pearls untested for natural origin.
  • Length of pendant 3cms.
  • Pendant stamped 9CT, partially indistinct.
  • Chain clasp is stamped 9CT.
