A pair of 18ct gold black opal and diamond earrings.

Condition Report

A pair of 18ct gold black opal and diamond earrings. Each designed as a pear-shape opal cabochon, with brilliant-cut diamond surround, suspended from a trace-link chain and similarly-cut diamond surmount. Estimated total diamond weight 0.80ct. Import marks for London, 1976. Length 2.8cms. Weight 4.8gms.

  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One of the post fittings is slightly bent.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Diamonds estimated approximately H-I colour, SI clarity.
  • Diamonds in good condition, one with a small dark inclusion visible through the table facet.
  • Opals with good play of colour, showing flashes of green and blue with with minor surface scratches.

  • With fixed posts for pierced ears.

  • Opal estimated dimensions 9 by 5 by 3 mms.
  • Stamped 750.
