Condition Report

An early 20th century 18ct gold sapphire and diamond ring. The twin square-shape sapphires, with single-cut diamond scalloped surround. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Ring size M1/2. Weight 3.5gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/wear and several dents throughout the band, in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Gallery is bent and has noticeable discolouration, especially visible nearer to the shoulders.
  • Band is significantly out of shape.
  • Band shows evidence of resize, soldering line is visible.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphires are a medium blue, well saturated, with good clarity, colour zoning and typical inclusions.

  • Sapphires are in good condition with minor abrasions to the surface and crown facet edges.

  • Length of ring head 1.8cms.
