An opal and amethyst pendant, with chain.

Condition Report

An opal and amethyst pendant. The oval opal cabochon, with circular-shape amethyst and scalloped surround, to the fancy-link chain. Length of pendant 3.5cms. Length of chain 48cms. Total weight 13.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Pendant can also be worn as a brooch.
  • Made up of varying aged components.
  • Chain is a later addition.
  • Opal and amethysts thought to be later replacement stones.
  • Would recommend attention to all settings as some claws deficient/worn.
  • Some areas of the setting show repair, may require further attention.
  • Amethyst are a medium purple, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Amethyst are in good condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Opal is a white body colour, with good play of colour, flashes in a range of hues and some minor surface scratches.
  • Opal dimensions 17 by 11 by 3mms.
  • Chain stamped 750.
