A George III silver porringer.

Condition Report

A George III silver porringer, of circular form with a wrythen lower body, central asymmetrical cartouche with floral accents, beneath an embossed beaded band and interspersed engraved leaf motifs, with twin reeded handles and personal inscription beneath the base. Hallmarked James Stamp & John Baker, London 1767. Height measuring 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm), weight 2.7 ozt (86 grams).

Purchasing information
    In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Possible signs of repair to the handles with fluids of solder visible around the bottom joins, one has also been attached at a lower point to the other handle. Possible signs of an engraving removed to the cartouche, as tiny impressions from possible letters visible under a loop. Engraved 'The gift of E: S: D' beneath the base, some scratched letters/numbers also visible. Maker's mark slightly worn but other hallmarks clear and legible.
