Condition Report

A late Victorian silver mounted glass 'Whiskey' jug or bottle, the shouldered ribbed form with applied loop handle and inscribed 'Whiskey', with later plated cork stopper. Collar hallmarked Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, Chester 1893. Maximum height inclusive of stopper 6 6/8 inches (17.2 cm).

Purchasing information
    In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The silver collar is heavily tarnished with minor nibbles to the interior glass rim. Some dirt residue beneath the bottom of the loop handle. The plated cork stopper is heavily tarnished with an indistinct mark. Maker's mark on the collar is slightly rubbed and worn, other hallmarks clear and legible.
