Purchasing information- Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Brooch with later alterations, signs of soft solder visible to reverse and near pin.
- Diamonds fairly well matched.
- Diamonds fairly bright.
- Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Cultured pearl is a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones, in good condition with minor abrasions.
- Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if the cultured pearl is from a fresh or saltwater source.
- Cultured pearl estimated diameter 7.5mms.
- Chevron shape surmount electronically tests as 12ct gold.
- Brooch pin electronically tests as 14ct gold.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
