Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Some wear to the gilt finish to reverse of some mount. Some with more noticeable small dents.
- Operculum shells in overall good condition, a few with fine hairline fractures and typical surface blemishes.
- Estimated dimensions of largest operculum and mount 26 by 24 by 10.7mms.
- Electronically tests as 18ct gold.
- Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
- Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked. Results from electronically tested items should only be used as a guide and with caution, as false readings are possible.
