Condition Report

A diamond, pearl and enamel parrot brooch. The rose-cut diamond and green enamel parrot, with circular-shape ruby eyes, suspending a pearl bead with similarly-cut diamond terminal. Length 4.1cms. Weight 15.6gms. Pearl untested.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Evidence of possible repair work. Pearl drop possibly unoriginal to piece.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight estimation and colour and clarity assessment.

  • Larger diamonds appear foil-back. Some with small surface reaching inclusions.
  • Pearl untested for natural origin.
  • Pearl is a creamy white colour, with rose and greenish overtones.
  • Pearl is in fair to poor condition, with some significant nacre damage.
  • Rubies are a well matched medium pinkish red.

  • Rubies in good condition with minor abrasions.

  • Enamel in good to fair condition with some small nicks and chips.
