Condition Report

A mid Victorian Gothic Revival gold ruby pendant. The cushion-shape ruby cannetille cross, set within a pierced floral quatrefoil disc, suspended from a tapered surmount. May be worn as a brooch. Length 3.9cms. Weight 8.8gms.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One bead deficient near surmount.
  • Rubies are a fairly well matched medium pinkish red hue, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies mostly in good condition with minor abrasions, one cracked.

  • Mounts show moderate wear.
  • Diameter of cross 3.4cms.
