Condition Report

Two late Victorian gold gem-set brooches. To include an 18ct gold split pearl and blue enamel star brooch with blue enamel Greek-key and cannetille surrounds, together with a 9ct gold amethyst foliate brooch with geometric engraved surround. Lengths 3.4 and 4.5cms. Total weight 26.5gms.

  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Each brooch with glazed panel reverse.
  • Enamel brooch with hook to reverse for drop, deficient.
  • Enamel with minor losses.
  • Split pearls with wear, discolouration.
  • Amethyst in closed back settings, possibly foil back and appears a pinkish purple hue.
  • Weight of enamel brooch 17.8gms.
