A late Victorian gold gem-set snake necklace. The textured snake head with garnet cabochon eyes and turquoise cabochon line crest, to the graduated snake-link chain. Length 38cms. Weight 27.7gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
- Glue residue visible to some turquoise, possibly replacements.
- Vacant suspension hoop to snake's mouth.
- Turquoise are a well matched, greenish-blue hue.
- Turquoise are in good to fair condition with small abrasions, few nibbles to the girdle.
- Garnets are a well matched, medium orange hue, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.
- Garnets are in good to fair condition with small abrasions, few nicks.
- Mark to reverse of snake indistinct.
