A pearl single-strand necklace, with gem-set butterfly clasp.

Condition Report

A pearl single-strand necklace. Comprising a slightly graduated baroque pearl strand, each pearl measuring approximately 5.5 to 3.1mms, with ruby, pearl and split pearl butterfly openwork clasp. Length 59cms. Total weight 20.8gms. Pearls untested.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One split pearl deficient to butterfly eye.
  • There are 126 pearls to the strand.
  • Pearls untested.
  • Pearls are a slightly varied creamy white to yellowish white colour, with rose and greenish overtones.
  • Pearls to the clasp with a slightly greyish blue hue.
  • Pearls generally in good condition, with some showing some nacre damage and uneven surface features.
  • Rubies are a deep medium purplish red hue.

  • Larger ruby with fairly significant chip to one side. Smaller ruby with surface reaching inclusion extending from the girdle to the table.

  • Split pearls with some discolouration and nacre damage.
