Condition Report
An early 20th century diamond and gem-set peacock brooch. The rose-cut diamond body, with emerald wings and crest, to the ruby and seed pearl fan tail, the legs gripping seed pearls. Length 6.1cms. Total weight 14.9gms.

Purchasing information- Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches, discolouration and small dents in keeping with general age and wear.
- Alterations. Brooch fittings later added.
- Some replacement gems. Dents and wear to the fittings.
- One emerald deficient.
- Gems presumed foil back.
- Diamonds moderately well matched.
- Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
- Varied inclusions, some surface reaching.
- Diamonds with chips and abrasion.
- Emeralds vary noticeably, many emeralds chipped.
- Rubies vary significantly in appearance, most appear pale purplish red hue.
- Eye is not ruby.
- One pearl to the foot is drilled.
- Seed pearls are fairly well matched. Uneven surface, good lustre.
- Foreign marks to the front of the legs, marks worn, indistinct.
