Condition Report

An early 20th century opal and diamond cluster ring. The oval opal cabochon, with single-cut diamond surround and square-shape ruby quarterly highlights. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Ring size P. Weight 3.1gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Band slightly out of shape.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Opal translucent with good play-of-colour across a range of hues, predominantly green hues.
  • Opal slightly loose in mount.
  • Noticeable abrasion across the upper half of the cabochon, some deeper scratches.
