An Edwardian gold and silver, diamond hinged bangle.

Description

Condition Report

An Edwardian gold and silver, diamond hinged bangle. Of openwork design, the graduated rose-cut diamond collet line, with similarly-cut diamond foliate surround and tapered sides. Estimated dimensions of principal diamonds 6.5 by 6.8 by 2mms. Inner diameter 5.6cms. Total weight 14.6gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Evidence of repair to hinge. Minor discolouration and slight pitting.
  • Some wear to the collet mounts.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.

  • Estimated dimensions of principal diamonds 6.5 by 6.8 by 2mms.
  • Principal diamonds with chips and nicks to the girdles. Pear-shape diamonds with minor to moderate scattered dark inclusions.
  • Non-principal diamonds with few, mostly minor, scattered inclusions, few surface reaching. Few with chips at the girdle.
  • Estimated dimensions of diamond panel 4.2 by 1.6cms.
  • Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
