A late Georgian gold yellow topaz cross pendant, with later 9ct gold chain.

Condition Report

A late Georgian gold topaz pendant. Designed as a square and fancy-shape yellow topaz cross, with bead highlights and plain loop surmount, suspended from a later 9ct gold fancy-link chain. Chain with import marks for London, 1983. Length of pendant 5.6cms. Length of chain 46.5cms. Total weight 7.5gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Additional strip of metal applied to right hand side of central topaz.
  • Evidence of further repair and alterations to mount.
  • One topaz significantly chipped.
  • Central collet mount shows evidence of repair.
  • Central topaz possible replacement.
  • Topaz are a light, slightly orangish yellow hue, with a weak to moderate saturation of colour. Good to fair clarity, some inclusions visible to the unaided eye.
  • Length stated includes surmount loop, length of cross 4.9cms.
