Lot Description

An enamel Austrian merit cross Viribus Unitis 1849 medal. The double sided medal, designed as a red guilloche enamel cross, to the circular white enamel panel with applied 'FJ' to one side and '1849' to the other, black enamel double-headed eagle, chain swag and the words 'Viribus Unitis', with crown above and signed surmount loop. Signed In Wein, V. Mahers Sohne. Length 6.3cms. Weight 14.4gms.
