Auction Results: Monday 28th May Vintage Jewellery & Accessories
On Monday 28th May Fellows held their largest Vintage Jewellery & Accessories auction to date, with just fewer than 1,000 lots on offer.

A 1920’s paste and imitation pearl necklace was the first lot of the day. The colourful piece was estimated at £80 - £120, but sold for four times its highest estimate at £480 after receiving plenty of attention from bidders.
Another interesting item to go above and beyond its estimated price of £400 - £600 was lot 201 – an Arts and Crafts foiled enamel gold pendant, circa 1900 attributed to James Cromar Watt, which sold for £1500.
Designer jewellery items were also popular on the day. Amongst the lots to sell well was an amethyst and plastic ring by Monika Seitter (lot 607), an early 20th century brooch with scrolling foliate decoration set with lapis lazuli cabochons by George Jensen (lot 579) and an amethyst abstract necklace with elongated fringe by Oswaldo Guayasmin (lot 573).
The handbags and purses section of the sale also fared well. One particularly sought after item was a 1920’s multi-gem evening clutch bag by Van Cleef & Arpels. The intricately designed bag was collet-set with cabochon rubies, emeralds and garnets to the gold and silver metallic thread embroidered fan pattern. Estimated at £1,000 - £1,500 this elegant piece sold for £1,600.
