Jewellery & Watch Valuer London

 

An exciting opportunity for a Jewellery & Watch valuer to join the Fellows team, based in Mayfair, London. Fellows Auctioneers is one of the country’s leading auction houses with a head office based in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter. 

In the valuer role, you will be working within the busy London office and liaising with all departments in the firm. Holding close to 100 auctions a year, and with offices in both Birmingham and London, it is an exciting time to join this ever-growing business.   

 

Key duties
  • Valuing fine and costume jewellery
  • Valuing vintage and modern watches
  • Taking an active role on viewing days
  • Taking an active role on auction days
  • Meeting and building relationships with vendors and buyers alike

Job requirements

Junior Cataloguer - Jewellery Department

 

Are you enthusiastic and detail focussed with a passion for jewellery? Do you want to work for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opening in our Jewellery Department for a Junior Cataloguer.

 

Based in stunning modern offices in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, we are in a great location to offer a wide range of auctions. In this role you will answer directly to the head of the Jewellery Department and help put together our fortnightly Jewellery Auctions.

 

Duties will include:

v  To help catalogue the Antique & Modern Jewellery sale, Stones for Tender sale, Vintage Jewellery sale and the jewellery section in the Jewellery sale.

v  To produce accurate and concise condition reports.

v  To assist with photography and re-naming of lots.

v  To assist with viewing and sale day, including telephone bidding.

v  To help opening of parcels and sorting of consignments if necessary.

v  To help with collections and sending out of goods after the sale.

 

To be successful in this role you will be DGA certified or equivalent, an FGA is highly desirable. You will be a detail focused and driven self starter who relishes the opportunity to join a busy team. You will also have great written communication and IT skills and a keen eye for detail.

 

Ideally you would have experience working in the jewellery industry and be keen to learn.

Paid Internship, Jewellery and Watches

 

LONDON

Fellows is currently seeking an organised and motivated individual to fill a three month internship placement in our London office, starting July 2017.

Based at our Mayfair office, the primary focus of the internship will be to provide support and assistance to our London team allowing a valuable insight into the day to day operations of a successful international auction house. The internship placement would be suitable for applicants with a specific interest in Jewellery or Watches but we would also welcome applications from candidates with a general interest in the auction world.  

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be involved with a variety of different tasks including:

·         Administration

·         Researching

·         Writing blog posts

·         Helping on viewing days

·         Dealing with clients as front of house

·         Ad-hoc projects

Professional Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for jewellery or watches and the auction world and ideally hold a bachelor’s degree. They will have a high level of attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of computer literacy.

Internship placements are paid.

Additional Info

This is a three month internship placement and at present, there is no scope for this to develop into a permanent position.  All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK as we are unable to assist with visa applications.

Auction Bidding Clerk

 

Do you want to work behind the scenes for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opportunity as an Auction Helper to assist with our internet bidding that forms an integral part of our sales.

We hold sales primarily on Mondays and Thursdays, with the occasional Tuesday, we need people to come in and help us during these sales. Your role will be to monitor and place the bids coming in through our third party bidding platforms on a laptop.  

To be successful in this role you will be enthusiastic and confident with good communication skills and attention to detail. Experience of Auctions is useful but not essential, most important is a positive attitude and ability to work well in a fast paced environment.

Full-Time Administrator - Vintage Jewellery & Accessories Department

 

Are you enthusiastic and detail focussed with a passion for jewellery? Do you want to work for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opening in our Jewellery Department for a Department Administrator.

 

Based in stunning modern offices in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, we are in a great location to offer the excellent auctions we are renowned for. Fellows has recently been named the "best e-tailer of the year" and this wouldn't be possible without our dedicated team that makes it all possible.

 

In this role you will answer directly to the Department Head and help put together our Vintage Jewellery & Accessories auctions.

 

Duties will include:

  • To assist with correspondence throughout the auction process.
  • To assist with photography and re-naming of lots.
  • To assist with viewing and sale day, including telephone bidding.
  • To help opening of parcels and sorting of consignments if necessary.
  • To help with collections and sending out of goods after the sale.

 

To be successful in this role you will be a detail focused and driven self starter who relishes the opportunity to join a busy team. You will also have great written communication and IT skills and a keen eye for detail.

 

Ideally you would have experience working in the jewellery industry and be keen to learn. The salary banding for this role is between £16,000 to £18,000.
