Junior Cataloguer - Jewellery Department

 

Are you enthusiastic and detail focussed with a passion for jewellery? Do you want to work for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opening in our Jewellery Department for a Junior Cataloguer. Based in stunning modern offices in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, we are in a great location to offer a wide range of auctions. In this role you will answer directly to the head of the Jewellery Department and help put together our fortnightly Jewellery Auctions.

 

Duties will include:

To help catalogue the Antique & Modern Jewellery sale, Stones for Tender sale, Vintage Jewellery sale and the jewellery section in the Jewellery sale

To produce accurate and concise condition reports

To assist with photography and re-naming of lots

To assist with viewing and sale day, including telephone bidding

To help opening of parcels and sorting of consignments if necessary

To help with collections and sending out of goods after the sale

 
To be successful in this role you will be DGA certified or equivalent, an FGA is highly desirable. You will be a detail focused and driven self starter who relishes the opportunity to join a busy team. You will also have great written communication and IT skills and a keen eye for detail.  
 
Ideally you would have experience working in the jewellery industry and be keen to learn.

Auction Bidding Clerk

 

Do you want to work behind the scenes for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opportunity as an Auction Helper to assist with our internet bidding that forms an integral part of our sales.

We hold sales primarily on Mondays and Thursdays, with the occasional Tuesday, we need people to come in and help us during these sales. Your role will be to monitor and place the bids coming in through our third party bidding platforms on a laptop.  

To be successful in this role you will be enthusiastic and confident with good communication skills and attention to detail. Experience of Auctions is useful but not essential, most important is a positive attitude and ability to work well in a fast paced environment.

London Administrator

 

Do you want to work for one of the fastest growing independent auction houses in Britain? If so we have an exciting opening for an Administrator in our London Office.

We are looking for someone to complete and complement the London Team, providing the administrative back up to support our London and Birmingham offices. You will deal with a wide range of jobs relating to the day to day running of the office.

 

Duties will include:

Responsible for opening the office and ensure it remains tidy and secure throughout the day

Greet clients / customers both in person, via email and on the telephone

Manage office supplies

Process bids, invoices, receipts and requests on the in-house Auction software

Liaising with Birmingham colleagues to ensure goods are transferred between the two offices efficiently

Manage the London Office Calendar - ringing clients to confirm their scheduled meeting

Take ownership of our London Viewing Days – helping organise the items to view, looking after customers and colleagues attending the event

An integral, supportive team member

Excellent phone manner

 

Fellows use Microsoft Dynamics and while specific knowledge of this software is not required as training is provided; a sound knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft products is essential.

You should be a confident and clear communicator, able to liaise across all levels. The team you are supporting is increasingly busy so you will have good time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
