A Rare 1930s Diamond Ring to be Auctioned

We are pleased to offer a rare and elegant 1930s three-stone diamond ring by Canada’s premier luxury jewellery manufacturer and retailer, Birks.

Founded in 1879 in the heart of Montreal’s financial and commercial district by Henry Birks – later joined by his three sons – the jewellery maker quickly became known for its fabulous gemstones, sumptuous designs and quality pieces. However, it wasn’t until the early 20th century that Birks secured its standing as the destination store for the wealthy Canadian elite. This sterling reputation is still maintained today, with 58 exclusive jewellery stores across Canada and America meeting the demand for top quality craftsmanship and manufacture.

Lot 195 in our forthcoming Antique & Modern Jewellery sale dates from this period and the delicately carved gallery with a sprinkling of delicate diamond accents is a flawless example of the precision and care taken with every piece this company produces. In perfect condition, this lot offers an exciting yet subtle take on the classic three-stone diamond ring.
