The claret jug is in good condition commensurate with age and use. The item shows general scratches, marks and tarnishing with more significant discoloration along high points where the plate has began to wear, possibly due to over polishing. The glass is in good condition with a few minor scratches and marks and would benefit from a clean. There is a build up of polish within some of the raised detail and particularly around the hinged lid. The polish has also stained some of the glass where the plate meets the jug, most noticeably around the bottom of the jug where the spherical engraved rim holding fixing the handle in place has come loose. Maker's mark is clear and legible.
