Lot Description

Victorian silver cream jug, the bulbous body with oblique embossing of floral scrolls, high arch scrolling handle and raised above three shell mounted feet. Hallmarked Birmingham 1876 and the makers mark T.W. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), weight 3.77 ozt (117 grams).

The jug is very tarnished, it sits flat on the table. The solder join is visible down the side of the jug, the hallmark is rubbed but legible. A small section of the rim is bent inwards. The silver is quite thin, particularly at the rim. The embossing is rubbed but still shows detail.
