Lot Description
Victorian silver pierced open work basket of oval form with dividing bands of floral and foliate embossing and bordered with a scroll, shell and foliate border, the whole raised above a conforming oval foot, some damage. Hallmarked London 1895. Maximum length measuring 14 1/2 inches (37 cm), weight 25.32 ozt (787 grams).

Condition Report
There are general wear and tear scratches to the basket, with a few deeper scratches visible on the openwork silver. The hallmark to the base is very rubbed, but still just legible. To the base, one of the open work feet has snapped off. There are areas of gathered polish. The detailing is quite rubbed from polishing. There are some small patches of tarnishing.
