An Austro-Hungarian brooch of enamelled rectangular plaque design depicting St George slaying the dragon within an arched frame set four green stones to the base, the frame is flanked by twin columns with masked pediments. Height 6.5cms, width 4.7cms.

The brooch is in fair/poor condition. There is abrasion to the majority of the enamel with sections of enamel missing, for example to the arms of St George and also to his legs. The emeralds are heavily abraded and chipped and the settings are worn. There are scratches and areas of blackened discolouration to the back of the brooch. The pin and catch is secure.
