Lot Description

A 19th century percussion action rifle. The tapered steel barrel with chequered wooden stock, scrolled shaped striker upon an engraved plate marked 'Matthews' and shaped trigger guard 47.25" (120cm) long

The butt highly polished, has some bruises and dents to the trigger and firing arm looks to have been restored as it is highly polished. The ram rod mounting  brackets have also been re-soldered and are starting to split. The barrel has come away from the ram rod holder  and the barrel has been polished.
