Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind and dial set full hunter Benson pocket watch, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and  subsidiary seconds, signed Benson London, the engine turned case with milled band and vacant cartouche to the reverse, hallmarked London 1859, signed full plate English lever fusee movement  numbered 20758. Case diameter 45mm.

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The case is in fairly good order for its age and is generally tarnished and dirty, having some good definition left to the engine turned surface, the hinges are ok, the rear case release spring is jamming against its opening, meaning  the case back does not lock down. The bow is in good order. The case front release operates well, the inner bezel has a glass but  is loose. The white enamel dial has three hairline marks from the centre to the 10 o’clock, 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions, and a very faint one within the subsidiary seconds dial. The movement is in fair condition, the balance is ok and free, dial is loose as its missing its brass pins that secure the dial feet, and missing the fusee chain.
