Lot Description

An early 20th century opal and diamond pendant, the central oval opal in a claw setting surrounded by four old cut diamonds within an open scroll design body above a suspended dropper set with an old cut diamond and pear cut opal cabochon termination, on a fine link chain. Possible replacement dropper. Estimated total diamond weight 0.28cts, Length (including suspender) 6.9cm, width 3.5cm, length of chain 42.0cms.

The pendant is in good condition. Strong play-of-colour can be seen to both opals, to include red, orange, green, and blue. The body colour in a creamy grey. They are well matched. The diamonds are bright and lively. The suspended pear termination has slightly thicker claws. Minor scratches can be seen over the pendant and chain, in keeping with the age of the piece. Some of the claws to the settings are worn and may need attention.
