Lot 100

Lot Description

A Victorian silver mustard pot, of bellied form with hinged domed lid and decorative low relief chasing to the whole piece. Together with an associated blue glass liner and spoon. Hallmarked London 1876, makers mark rubbed, stamped 782. Gross weighable silver 3.67 ozt (114.3 grams).

Total lot weight: No

The Victorian silver mustard pot has just light surface wear and tear scratches, but all the detailing is very rubbed. There are some small areas of tarnishing and discolouration. The lid wobbles slightly on its hinge, the pot sits flat on the table. The hallmark to the base if rubbed but legible. The blue glass liner is more than likely a modern addition and although is a snug fit, wobbles slightly. The associated spoon is a slightly later addition and the engraved detail is not matching to the mustard pot, but of a similar style and not rubbed, the hallmark is rubbed but legible.
