Lot Description

TISSOT- A gentleman’s gold plated automatic Navigator World Time wrist watch circa 1952, the signed two tone centre seconds dial having raised gold tone Arabic numerals and World Time function, circular case with bezel marked with alternate hourly black Arabic numerals and arrow markers, fitted with a signed seventeen jewel bumper wind movement, calibre  number 285-N21, fitted to an associated tan leather strap. World Time Function A/F. Case diameter 36mm.

The case has surface marks and scratches throughout, there are signs of wear to the plating on the underside edges of the lugs, there are some segments of black enamel missing from the number twelve and the number six of the bezel, the screw down case back has surface marks and scratches, and is marked inside 80 microns, and numbered 4002-2. The movement is numbered 2798766, and is in reasonable condition, some tarnishing and scratches to the plates, and burrs to the screw heads, the hand set function is operating, the bumper action is operating, and the inner World Time dial advances as the hands are set, but the button at the two o’clock position does not advance the dial, the watch is currently running.
