Lot Description

William IV silver goblet, of waisted form with bulbous base and raised above a circular pedestal foot, chased all over with floral and foliate motifs.  Hallmarked London 1832, maker probably Joseph Angell senior & Joseph Angell junior.  Height measures 6 3/4 inches (17cm), weight 8.48 ozt (263.9 grams).

There are general surface marks, scratches and wear in keeping with the age of the item.

There is some pitting to the metal and a few minor dents - there is a larger dent around the top rim.

The embossed decoration is in generally good condition.

The join line is visible on the stem.

There are areas of collected polish.

The hallmark and maker's mark are rubbed but still legible. Update to the previous condition report, there has been what looks like initial engraving removed from the body, the silver in this area however does not feel significantly thinner.
