Lot 141

Lot Description

A 1930's silver cigarette box of plain square hinged form with wooden interior. Hallmarked Birmingham 1931. Measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The square cigarette box displays general wear and surface marks and scratches.  There are also a number of noticeable dints in the metal, to the lid and base.  Some of these are larger than others, in particular there is a deeper dint to one of the edge corners on the base.  On the underside, the silver mount is a little bit loose in places and also very slightly misshapen.  The hinges are in good working order although the lid does not shut completely tight.  The wooden interior also displays signs of general wear and in one section a small piece has broken off.  The marker's marks are rubbed and illegible.  The full hallmarks and part hallmarks are also rubbed but still legible.
