Lot 25

Lot Description

Pair of silver sauce boats of classic form with frilled rim, high arch scrolling handle and raised above three paw feet. Hallmarked Marples & Co Sheffield 1906/7. Height including handle measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), gross weight 10.74 ozt (334 grams).

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The pair of sauce boats display some wear commensurate with the age and use, with scratches, marks and tarnishing. Unfortunately there have been numerous repairs to each, particularly around the rims, this does not appear to have been finished to a high standard. To the earlier example there is also blistering to the surface of the metal, particularly on the underside of the feet, the interior of the handle and around the rim. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
