Lot Description

Victorian pair of open salts, the circular bodies with floral embossing, beaded rims, blue glass liners and raised above three hoof feet. Hallmarked Robert Harper London 1859. Maximum diameter measuring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm).

Both salts have general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with their age and use.  Both have deeper and more visible scratches to the interior and also some black marks (more to one than the other).  There is some wear to the floral embossing.  Hallmarks are rubbed but all still legible.  Surface marks and scratches to the blue glass liners.
