Lot Description

George III silver cream jug, the bulbous form with scroll handle, wavy rim and circular footed base, chased all over with flowers and foliage and with vacant cartouche to the front.  Hallmarked London, possibly 1764, maker possibly Samuel Meriton II.  Height including handle 4 3/4 inches (12cm), weight 2.97 ozt (92.5 grams).

The circular foot rim is slightly misshapen.


Part of the chased decoration goes through the hallmarks making them difficult to read.  They are also rubbed.
