Lot Description
A large Victorian silver tray of oval form, the body engraved with acanthus and floral scroll mounted cartouche surrounding alternate floral and fruit motifs, central crest and the body with beaded and wheat-ear and scrolling acanthus rim with conforming twin mounted loop handles. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall) London 1871, retailed by Metcalf & Co Pall Mall London. Width including handles 31 3/4 inches (81 cm), gross approximate weight 209 ozt (6500 grams).

Condition Report
The tray is in good overall condition displaying wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. Remnants of old polish to the recesses. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
