Lot Description

An early 20th Century gold coloured key wind pocket watch, the engine turned silvered dial with black Roman numerals and gilt hands bordered by a minute track, the ornately engraved case having scroll motif with black and white enamel decoration, fitted with a Swiss bar movement with cylinder escapement. Case diameter 38mm. With gold coloured safety chain and key.


Update 14.01.11 - the watch case tests as 18k.

Open face pocket watch, key wind and set cylinder movement is currently functioning, the dial has a very light patina, with light surface marks to the engine turned centre, hands have light surface marks and the hour hand is slightly out of sync, the glass has a few light surface marks, there are a few small segments of enamel work missing to the case back, which also has surface marks and scratches as a result of general use, the inner case cover is signed "Echappement A Cylindre, Le Cylindre Et Quatre Trous En Rubis No. 2285 - Courvoisier & Compe", pendant release functioning ok.
