The pendant is in overall fair condition. There is abrasion to the facet edges of the amethyst visible with magnification, the central amethyst is far paler in colour and not specifically well matched. The split pearls vary in quality, one is imitation and has been replaced, some with blisters and imperfections to the nacre, some are more grey in shade with dirt and glue to some settings. One split pearl to the suspender is also an imitation, the suspender does not appear original to the piece. There are slight scratches to the pendant in keeping with the age of the piece, there are areas of discolouration to the reverse. Many of the belcher links are bent off round, some links with visible lead solder. The barrel clasp does not appear original.
