Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold diamond ring circa 1860, the oval old European cut diamond within a foliate engraved surround and band. Estimated diamond weight 0.25cts, colour H-I, clarity P1 (Chips and fractures to surface). Hallmarks for Birmingham 1867. Weight 3.5gms.

The ring is in fair/poor condition. There are serious areas of wear and dents to the ring shank, there is a solder join visible to the back. The inner hallmark is legible, just slightly rubbed. The inner personal engraving is rubbed and not legible to one area. There are dents to the outer surround of the diamond and serious dents to the edging. There are some chips to the central diamond visible with magnification, the setting may need to be secured. Ring size Q1/2.
