The inkwell displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  There are also numerous dints and nicks all over the main body and lid.  There is one particularly large dint to the lid.  There are also some knocks around the base rim.  The hinged lid is in working order but is fairly loose.  Hallmarks and maker's marks are slightly distorted but still legible.
