Lot Description

An early 20th century silver stamp holder, modelled in the form of an envelope and decorated all over with bright cut engraved scrolling foliate motifs and with a monogrammed cartouche to the reverse, opening to reveal a central dividing bar.  Hallmarked Adie & Lovekin Ltd., Birmingham 1913. Measuring 40mm by 25mm, weight 8.3 grams.

The item displays general wear and minor surface marks and scratches.  There are also some very minor nicks and dints.  The bright cut engraved decoration is in generally good condition.  The hinge is in good working order.  The full set of hallmarks and part hallmarks are all clear and legible.
