A silver George IV key wind pair case pocket watch.

Lot Description
A George IV silver pair case key wind pocket watch by W. Hoplend of London, the white enamel dial having black Roman numeral hour markers, surrounded by an outer minute track, the plain cases, both hallmarked London 1826, the outer case with watch papers, fitted with a signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement and undersprung balance. Outer case diameter 56mm.

George IV silver pocket watch, the key wind verge fusee movement is not currently functioning although there does appear to be power going through the train and the balance does operate dial up but arrests dial down, this could indicate a balance pivot has damage, dial has some minor marks with debris, hands have minor scratches, glass has a chip to the rim at the 6 o'clock position with a hole in the glass at the center, inner case has marks and scratches that are from general wear with some denting to the rear, outer case has some general marks with tarnishing. Locking clasp on the outer case is worn and is but the locking mechanism still functions.
