Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind pocket open faced pocket watch by Gaydon, Barnstaple, the white enamel dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock, outer minute track, the round case with milled band, rubbed engine turned decoration with vacant cartouche to the rear, hallmarked London 1879, fitted with a signed full plate fusee and chain movement, ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case diameter 52mm. Together with a silver trombone link Albert chain with fancy T-bar slide.

Silver open face pocket watch, the key wind movement is currently not functioning although the balance appears to be free, dial looks in good condition with some superficial marks and debris, hands are slightly out of shape with some minor marks, glass has chips and scratches throughout with a more apparent one at 3 o'clock, case has marks from general wear with the engine turned pattern mostly rubbed away.
