Lot Description

Late Victorian silver mounted glass vanity jar, the press moulded cylindrical glass jar with plain silver collar, with faceted bulbous glass stopper.  Mount hallmarked Birmingham 1893, maker's mark partly obscured possibly Levi & Salaman.  Height with stopper measures 5 1/2  inches (14cm).

The glass displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  The underside displays some deeper more visible scratches.  There are various minor edge and rim nicks to the main body and also to the stopper.  The silver collar is very tarnished and displays several creases and dints.  Hallmarks and maker's marks partly obscured but still legible.
