Lot Description

Georgian Irish silver sauce ladle with shell bowl, the Hanoverian stem engraved to the front and reverse with scrolling foliate motifs and with initialled terminal to the reverse.  Hallmarks very distorted but possibly Dublin 1764, maker possibly Daniel Peter. Length measures 6 1/4 inches (16cm), weight 1.42 ozt (44 grams).

The spoon displays wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  There is some wear and loss of detail to the engraved decoration on the stem and terminal.  Hallmarks are very squashed and distorted.
