Lot 369

Lot Description

Edwardian silver pocket watch travelling case, the plain rectangular form with single scroll carrying handle and standing on four bun feet, front opening to reveal a red velvet lining containing a white metal mounted keyless wind Goliath pocket watch (a.f).  Case hallmarked King & Sons, Chester 1903.  Height of case excluding handle 4 inches (10cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The case displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  There are some deeper more noticeable scratches in places, especially to the reverse of the case.  There is one large and some smaller dints in the metal and various other minor nicks.  The hinges are in good working order.  The feet are a little bit knocked so that the case wobbles slightly when standing.  The material to the interior is quite worn and deteriorated and partly replaced.  Hallmarks are slightly rubbed but still legible.  The pocket watch is at fault.
