Lot Description

A Victorian 18ct gold key wind open face pocket watch, the gilt dial with hourly applied Roman numerals, floral detail to centre, subsidiary seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, rubbed engine turned decoration to case with vacant cartouche to the rear, hallmarked London 1874, personal engraving to dust cover, fitted with an unsigned gilt full plate fusee and chain movement with verge escapement. Case diameter 51mm. Total weight 103gms.

A Victorian 18ct gold open face pocket watch. The key wind fusee and chain movement is not currently functioning and does not wind. The balance staff appears to be intact. The dial has a scratch running from twelve to three. An attempt has been made to repaint the subsidiary seconds dial. Hands are tarnished and marked. The glass is filthy and lightly scratched to two o'clock. The case shows signs of scratches, marks and dints commensurate with age and material. It is also rubbed. The pendant bow has been replaced at some point and the replacement has been fitted at an angle.
