Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch, the white dial with hourly applied black Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, subsidiary seconds dial positioned to six o'clock, round case with milled band and vacant cartouche to rear, hallmarked Chester, fitted with full plate movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement. Case  diameter 54mm.

A silver open face pocket watch. The key wind movement is currently functions intermittently and this may be due to the minute hand catching on the hour hand. Dial has a variety of hairline cracks running from the centre down to the six o'clock position with one heading to the eight o'clock position. Seconds hand is offset. Hands show signs of tarnishing and surface rust. The glass is dirty, scratched and has yellowed with age. Case is heavily rubbed and possesses a variety of light scratches, marks, dints and tarnishing commensurate with wear. Pendant is loose.
